Do you possess peace, quietness and confidence?

The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
(Isaiah 32:17 (NIV))

This passage is taken from a book that talks about the coming righteousness and how the ways of the world will be turned upside down.

No longer will the fool be called noble
nor the scoundrel be highly respected.
(Isaiah 32:5 (NIV))

It also talks about the desert becoming fertile. In other words, righteousness will bring wisdom and blessing to an area that was lacking. It is recognized that Isaiah often spoke of the coming of the Messiah and how the world would be once He returns. If you read this passage from a personal level, it has so many wonderful implications!

Think about this when answering these questions.

Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior?

Have you fully embraced the righteousness that is yours through the grace and mercy freely given through Jesus?

Have you been given an inner peace that passes all understanding? Has the Holy Spirit given you a guietness in your soul? Do you have confidence in your salvation?

Isaiah’s words are much deeper than many people will admit. God’s Word is much deeper than many people will admit. The more that we draw near to God, the deeper the understanding that we are given. That understanding will bring righteousness and that righteousness will bring fruit into your lives. Take a look at your own life.

Do you possess peace, quietness and confidence?

Do you long to be someone that people thank God for?

We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 (NIV))

What a testimony of faith this passage is!

Paul, the man whom Jesus picked to be His messenger to the Gentiles, praises the church of the Thessalonians.

Faith, hope and love!

They held fast to these precepts and did it well enough to be lifted up to God in prayer as an example of how it should be done.

Do we live up to that example?

Would Paul thank God for us in the same way that he thanked God for the church of the Thessalonians?

In self-reflection, I find myself lacking. I find myself not always responding the way that I desire to respond. Human nature takes over just when you don’t want it to. It is a constant struggle that every person has no matter what you desire to do. Still, it is a goal that we should all have.

It is a matter of priorities!

Is Jesus working miracles in your life?

And they took offense at him.
But Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor.”
And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
(Matthew 13:57-58 (NIV))

Carefully consider the words written above. How true these words have proven to be throughout history. Jesus knew that He would not be embraced in His own hometown, for they did not see Him as the Messiah, but as the little boy they watched grow up.

Let’s consider another possible meaning of these words. When we ask Jesus into our hearts, He comes to live there. He is basically making our heart His home. If we do not honor Him as our Lord and Savior, His hometown rejects Him. When He is rejected, He will not do many miracles, for He does not work where faith is lacking.

Is Jesus working miracles in your life? Is your faith strong enough to allow the miracles to happen? Is Jesus honored in your heart?
