Be Still . . .

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
(James 1:19-21 (NIV))

In today’s society, anything goes. Angst therapy; Primal scream; Acting out. These are only a few of the “anger” philosophies that worldly psychologists are pushing on society. The Bible teaches us that anger is something to control and not something to control us.

Righteousness is what God desires in our lives. Through the Holy Spirit, our anger will be controlled and God’s will for our lives will be able to be fulfilled. Jesus taught us about God’s love for us. We must accept this love in order to control our anger. Anger and the resulting consequences are not from God. They are from the enemy and go against everything that God desires for us.
