On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: `The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.
(Luke 24:1-8 (NIV))

Contrary to what the world says.

He’s alive!

Contrary to what the enemy wants.

He’s alive!

Contrary to what doubters proclaim.

He’s alive!

The Body of Christ worldwide just celebrated the resurrection. Millions of people throughout history have proclaimed that Jesus is their Lord and Savior. Millions of people alive today are proclaiming the very same thing.

The doubters can doubt. I am confident in my faith.

The enemy can lie. I will not believe the lies.

The world can make all sorts of claims. I know the truth!

Jesus, who was crucified, dead and buried, is alive!

Nothing can change the truth. Nothing can change my heart. I believe that Jesus is alive and I rejoice in that saving knowledge.

Can your testimony help change the world?

With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all.
(Acts 4:33 (NIV))

Do people give their lives to something that they do not know to be true? Are people willing to boldly proclaim something as the truth if they know that it is not? Do people willingly go to their own deaths for something that they have made up?

Carefully consider the twelve who were with Jesus. All of them were timid with respect to public speaking, especially if it meant that they might be put to death for their words. They all wanted an end to the Roman rule, but I have not found any evidence that indicated they were willing to die to see this happen.

What made these ordinary men speak out with such extraordinary power and authority even when their very lives were threatened because of what they said? They possessed a zeal that only comes when someone has had a life changing experience. This experience had proven to them beyond any doubt that what they testified to was true. They had all witnessed it!

Because of their faith and willingness to testify to what they knew to be true, the world has forever been changed. It all started with a handful of people who had the power of truth on their side; people who were willing to share that truth no matter what the cost. They knew that nothing in this world could change that truth that had empowered them.

Their testimony literally changed the world for they testified of the truth of the grace and mercy offered through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. They were willing to offer that to any and all who would hear it.

Are you willing to offer what they offered in power and authority?
