Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
(Galatians 2:20 (NIV))
For those of you who don’t know me personally and found yourself wondering why there weren’t any devotionals for a week, there is an explanation. It is this explanation that I want to use to ask you to reflect on your own life.
I won’t go into details, but suffice it to say that I unexpectedly ended up at the emergency room on a Monday morning with issues that had everyone worried. I was taken immediately back to a trauma unit where I had every conceivable test and scan performed. Once they figured out what was happening and I was stable, they moved me to an intensive care unit where the walls between my room and the nurse’s station were glass so that they could see me at all times. I was finally moved to a regular room where I stayed under constant monitoring for almost a week.
I want you to imagine yourself in this scenario.
How would you react?
What would you think about?
What would you pray about?
Do you have and would you be filled with the peace that passes all understanding?
I am thankful to be home, but I also had no fear of the other option. I know where my faith is placed. I know that I am forgiven for all of the sins that have come into my life. I was ready for whatever the outcome would have been.
Are you ready for your outcome?
