Do you long for God to be exalted?

Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living

Be still, and know that I am God;
(Psalms 46:10a (NIV))

With everything that is going on in the world, are you doing what He has asked?

Are you able to be still in His presence? Are you learning to trust in Him? Are you at peace with the knowledge of who He is?

I find it interesting that He instructs us to be still and get to know Him, and then, after we do know Him, He leads us to trust that He will be exalted.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
     I will be exalted among the nations,
     I will be exalted in the earth.”
(Psalms 46:10 (NIV))

Have you placed your faith in the Lord? Has He ever let you down? Has He ever broken a promise? When you realize that God’s Word is the story of how God has promised and we have rejected, we see that He still manages to keep every single promise that He has ever made. It is at this point that we realize that He will prevail. He will, by His very nature, do what will glorify Himself in the presence of a sinful, fallen world.

He has brought the promise of salvation.

He will restore righteousness!

He will be exalted!

“Turn to me and be saved,
     all you ends of the earth;
     for I am God, and there is no other.
By myself I have sworn,
     my mouth has uttered in all integrity
     a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow;
     by me every tongue will swear.
(Isaiah 45:22-23 (NIV))

Do you long for God to be exalted?
