Have you answered the call to pray?

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
(2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV))

I have seen this passage used so many times recently, and rightly so. I have used it myself as well. Anybody who knows what is going on in this country and in the world and how it relates to Godliness and righteousness has been praying. I have seen it said many times that our nation, and our world, is at a tipping point. We are at a point of decision where we, as a nation, must choose to return to God or we will choose to abandon God.

All throughout the history of Israel, we read of the times when people made the wrong choice. Even when God sent His prophets to call people to repentance, they did not listen as they should.

I know that, ultimately, we are on God’s time table and what is unfolding is part of His bigger picture. Many people think that they have a very good idea of where we are in His timing, but that does not mean that we stop praying. It does not mean that we give up Godly humility. It does not mean that we continue in our sin!

In just a few days, we, as a nation, will be voting to select the person who will become the next leader of this country. Neither person is perfect. To be completely honest with you, there is no one who is the perfect leader. We have a decision to make and a vote to cast. We, as the Body of Christ, need to pray for insight into the very hearts of the individuals. We need to pray for guidance from God in whom we should select. We are told in God’s Word that in the last days, the wheat and the tares, the good and the evil, will grow up equally. I can’t help but see how evenly polarized we have become. Is this a sign?

Do you feel that you are called by God? Have you approached God in humility and prayer, seeking His face in repentance? If you have been doing this, don’t stop. If you haven’t started, it’s not too late to begin.
