Who among the gods is like you, O LORD?
Who is like you–
majestic in holiness,
awesome in glory,
working wonders?
(Exodus 15:11 (NIV))

Several thousand years later, the question still remains the same. Who is like our God?

The history of the world has presented no one who can match our Lord in His holiness, His glory, or in His wonders. There is not a single god that man has created that can come close. There is not a single person, tribe or nation that can come close. And to prove that there is no one like Him, and that He alone is God, He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to come to this earth to glorify God the Father.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
(John 3:17-18 (NIV))

God, in all of His majesty and glory did not need to prove His authority by punishing mankind. Instead, in all of His infinite wisdom, He decided to save the world. He decided to offer grace and mercy to the very creation that had allowed sin into the perfect world that He had created. How awesome is that?

The next time that you find yourself forgetting God’s holiness, take a look around. Look at the sunset. Look at the sky. Look at the birds of the air. Look at Jesus! Jesus is the ultimate symbol of God’s holiness, glory and wonders, after all:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
(John 3:16 (NIV))

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
(Romans 8:31 (NIV))
