Be Still . . .

Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
(Ecclesiastes 5:2 (NIV))
Do you ever get the attitude that you know more than God?
We all get that way every once in a while. We want to tell God how we would be much better if things would only be done the way that we want them to be done. It is human nature to want to be in charge. Let’s face it, we desire power.
Is there anything more absurd than a mere creation trying to tell the Creator how to do things?
We do not even know how to create anything that will last out of what we have around us. Consider that God created everything out of nothing. All that we can do is use the creation that God has given us to fashion feeble and fleeting tools to try to assist us with our existence. God gave us our existence.
The next time that we feel like telling God how to run things, perhaps we should remember our place and His. Can a car tell the team of engineers how to design? Can the toy tell the toy maker how the toy should be played with?
What do you try to tell God? Remember that He gave us two ears and one mouth!
